Air China

Overview

Founded in 1988, Air China has definitely come a long way from its humble beginnings. Situated in Beijing, with the Beijing Capital International Airport as its main base, Air China is the 2nd-largest commercial airline owned by the People’s Republic of China. To date, Air China is the flag airline of the republic – the only airline to boast of bearing the PRC national flag on its whole fleet.

Air China is the 4th biggest airline in the whole of Asia. It is the 5th biggest all over the world when it comes to domestic cargo traffic. In terms of fleet size, Air China is the 17th biggest in the world. Air China has established various codeshare agreements with fellow airline companies. These codeshare agreements are with Air Macau, Asiana Airlines, Dragonair, United Airlines, ANA or All Nippon Airways, Lufthansa, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Korean Air, Austrian Airlines, Alitalia, Finnair, Shandong Airlines, Qantas, Qatar Airways, Shanghai Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, SAS or Scandinavian Airlines System, and Turkish Airlines.

Air China’s Aircraft Types

Air China has both the Airbus and the Boeing. The Airbus models include the A319, the A320, the A321, the A330, and the A340. The Boeing models include the 737, the 747, the 757, the 767, and the 777.
