Company Profile
Founded in 1932, Air India has been the national flag carrier of India since then. Although air transport was officially borne on 1911 in India, it was not until 1932 when air transport in terms of scheduled services started out in today’s sense. This was the day when India’s father of Civil Aviation, as well as the founder of Air India itself, J.R.D. Tata, took a flight to Bombay (Mumbai today) via Ahmedabad. J.R.D. Tata took a small, light de Havilland Puss Moth, which was single-engined back then.
With major hubs at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Air India provides quality air transport with its fleet size of 48, plus 57 on order.
