It is the developed country with a reputation of 13th largest economy in the world. It is the centre for public education, commerce, trade, health care and human development. It is the member nation of OECD, ANZUS, APEC, United Nations and G20. It is the only nation which is listed in the index Quality of life outside Europe.

Being a large continent nation it undergoes variation in climatic conditions. In a year the country receives about 3000 hours of sunshine. Generally the north part of the Australia is tropical and hot where as temperate and sub tropical. Rainfall comes in coastal region with central Australia in semi arid conditions. The maximum temperature recorded here is 30 degree Celsius during day time with a night temperature of 15 to 20 degree Celsius. Some times the temperature dip downs to negative numbers in southern part of Australia. The winter starts in June and ends August. The summer is from December to February. The rainfall is evenly distributed all through the year.

Getting Around
Since Australia is sparely populated and huge it is the perfect place to tour. There are some restrictions especially on vegetables and fruits from one state to other. If you are planning to travel long distances in Australia then you can make use of trains. Renting a car is also a good option with some of the car rental stores offering discounts on special occasions. There is toll collected while traveling in highways.
