Overview

Cambodia is in Southeast Asia, covers a total land area of 181,035 square km and has twenty one provinces. Bordering by the North of Cambodia is Thailand and Laos, to its East and South is Vietnam, and to its South and Southwest is bordered by Thailand’s Gulf. The country is generally flat with its land that is used for rice production. There are mountainous areas as well like Cardomen, Elephant, and Dangrek mountain ranges.

Just like most of the countries in Southeastern Asia, Cambodia is also a tropical country which means that the sun shines all the year round and has up to high average temperature. It has 2 different seasons, the dry and the other, the monsoon. From the month of May until October is usually the times when monsoons last, this goes with 75 to 80 percent of the yearly rainfall that sometimes brings some lightning. During November to April, the temperature ranges from 27 up to 40° Celsius. There are months though that the country experiences cooler climate and that is from the month of October until January.

When to Travel to Cambodia

Considering the weather, it is best to travel in Cambodia from December to January. During these times it is not raining that much and is almost cumbersome and when February starts, the heat of the sun will be almost intolerable. But the attractions will not appear that beautiful unless it is less crowded.

If you have a limited budget for travel, Cambodia is a place for you. The rooms are or housing is very low-cost, for less than 1,284 INR you can find a comfortable place to stay.  Money exchange is not that common but your credit card should be fine in its major cities. Make sure to always have extra money reserved and the only downside of your money is for your transportation.

Cambodian cuisine is generally mouthwatering, from soup to grilled fish and rice noodles, you will surely enjoy.

It is best to wear anti-mosquito lotion all the time as diseases caused by mosquitoes are still common.
