Overview

There different modes of public transportation in Chiang Mai, visitors can take one of the following:
- Seelor – it’s a make shift bus, using pick-up trucks as a mode of transportation. The open area of the truck is covered serve as the roof for passengers and seats are also attached for comfort.
- Tuk-Tuk – it’s the quickest and the easiest way to get around town. It’s a motorcycle driven carriage that can drive you to the bazaars and night markets in town.
- Taxi – there are also metered taxis all over Chiang Mai.
- Cars- cars can also be rented to go about exploring the town.
- Tourists can also hire a driver and a minivan, and some even come with a tour guide to help tourists know the ins and outs of the town.
- Mopeds and bicycles – a “greener” way to travel and go sightseeing

Weather / Climate
Chiang Mai is famous for having a tropical climate, though known to have three seasons, the hot season which is from March until the month of May, the rainy season – from June until October and the cool season – from November until February.
When to Visit
It is advisable to visit Chiang Mai during its cool season, when the sun is not that hot and cool winds blow. This is also considered to be the province’s peak season. While the off peak season is when the rains come in, although the humid weather brings down flight prices and hotel rates.
