Chicago

FLIGHTS & TRAVEL GUIDE

Overview

Chicago has always been known as the “windy city”. But this is not directly because it is too windy to stand still. This was pertained to the loud clamor of the politicians during the 1893 Columbian Exposition. This famous city is known for its friendly people. You get to be invited to free performances and attractions that make you experience Chicago without even paying.

Chicago is also known for the deep dish pizza that you just have to try. It is a pizza made in reverse that really gets thickened because of the amount of filling that it gets. You will be full in just a few bites. There are debates as to where the original deep dish started but you just have to taste them for you to really make your decision.

Here are some of the main attractions of Chicago:

  • Navy Pier
  • Millennium Park
  • Skydeck Chicago
  • Hancock Observatory
  • Lincoln Park Zoo
  • Garfield Park Observatory
  • Lincoln Park Conservatory
  • Chicago Cultural Center

When to Travel

Chicago is visited best from June-September—summertime. Tourists and local visitors increase in number during these months even if temperatures rise to above 90 degrees F. If you want a hotel by this time, you should make your reservations way ahead of time. Festivals happen almost all at the same time during summer. The most famous celebration if “Taste of Chicago” that happens in the latter of June or early in July. If you like the beaches, expect dense crowds. Too dense, in fact that you may have to squeeze in your feet just to walk along the beach.
