Overview
The full name of Ecuador is the Republic of Ecuador. It is a country in the North-western part of South America. It comprises of a Pacific Ocean coastline which lies to the Equator between Columbia to the northeast. Ecuador is bordered by Peru to the south and east. This country is comprised of active volcanoes and they attract visitors from many corners of the world. It has an area of about 283,520 square kilometres and a population of about 12,920,092 people. The country has got many cheap hotels for the visitors. This country is bisected by the Equator in that one part lies to the Southern hemisphere while the rest lies to the northern hemisphere. The area has thick jungles with river streams that pour water into the famous Amazon River. Wonderful creatures are found in this place and also attractive beaches which attract many visitors.

Climate / Weather
The climate of Ecuador is somehow unpredictable. It is tropical along the coast and sometimes becomes cooler inland at higher elevations. The climate is also tropical in the lowlands along the Amazonian jungle. The country has got two seasons, that is, wet and dry season. The ocean currents tries to influence the mainland climate whereby it is rainy during January to April. The rest of the year it is actually cool and dry. The dry season in the highlands is experienced between the month of June and September.

Getting Around
It is easy and simple to get around the republic of Ecuador. First, one can use a bus to get around. We have the intercity buses which can reach everywhere in Ecuador. Bus tickets are bought at the central bus station whereby they are cheap and affordable. Some long distance buses charge $1 to $2 per hour but sometimes it is negotiable depending on the distance to be travelled. Taxis are also found everywhere in Ecuador. They are yellow in colour and have licence numbers displayed outside for passengers to see.
Best Time to Travel
People from different parts of the world like visiting Ecuador. This is because it has numerous tourist destinations. It is actually good to plan well on when to visit Ecuador following its climatic patterns. Between the months of January to April, the central Pacific emits warm currents which modify the climate where temperatures rise up to 30 degree Celsius during the day and this is the best time to visit Ecuador. We have cool Pacific currents between May and December and thus it is not good to visit Ecuador during these months.
