Overview
El Salvador is a country found in the Central America whereby Pacific Ocean borders the country in the southwest. The country is sandwiched between Guatemala and Honduras. This country is the smallest in Central America with an area of 21,040 square kilometres. Although the country is mall in size, it is the most densely populated among all the countries of Central America. It has a great population of about 6,500,000 people and is divided into 14 departments. It comprises of active volcanoes, large lakes and cities. The capital city of El Salvador is known as San Salvador and is actually a very busy town. Climate / Weather
The climate within El Salvador is purely tropical. Heavy rains are experienced between the month of May and October and during this particular time; many people avoid visiting this country due to road inaccessibility. There is a dry season in El Salvador which is between the months of November and April. In the coast, the climate is also tropical and high temperatures are experienced in the uplands.

Getting Around
It is easy and simple to get around the country of El Salvador. This is simply because there are numerous buses and taxis that operate from city to city dropping passengers at their destinations. Cars are also available for rent within the country and they can take you to different destinations of your interest within the same country. A reliable train is available that runs right from San Salvador towards Apopa. The train operates in the morning and in the evening but very few people choose this option.
Best Time to Travel
Travelling to El Salvador is easy just like entering into other countries of Central America. A valid passport, a visa or a tourist card is required for this matter. The visa guarantees you only 90 days within this country. The best and convenient time to travel to El Salvador would actually be during the dry season. This dry season normally lasts right from November up to March. This is considered the best time simply because the roads are safer to navigate more than any other time of the year. It is actually hot and humid between the month of April and May and this will not make the best tour time to El Salvador. Many tourists are found during the school holidays.
