Overview
Fiji is an Island officially recognized as Republic of Fiji. It is located about 2000 km from north of New Zealand. Vanuatu is the closest neighbor to this island. Tonga is located towards its east, Tuvalu to its north and Kermadec towards its southeast. Some history reports show that the major portion of this island was formed from volcanic activities about 150 million years back. Still today geothermal activities occur in the islands of Taveuni and Vanua Levu. This country is home to 332 islands. Among 332 islands 110 are permanently inhabited. The population of this country is 850,000. Suva is the capital of Fiji. Most Fiji residents live in coasts of Levu and Suva. The history of Fiji is dates back to 18th century. It was founded by Dutch but exposed by British. It was colony of British until 1970. The British people ruled this Island for more hundred years. It has the distinction of most developed economical country in the Island realm. It is the main source of foreign exchange specialized in sugar exports. Fijian dollar is the currency used in Fiji. The city was almost destructed at the time of world war second. RFMF is the major political country ruling this country.

Fiji undergoes tropical climate according to the Koppen climate classification. The country is warm all most all days in a year. The winter season starts in November and ends in April. The cooler season starts in May and ends October. The average temperature reported during cool season is about 22 degree Celsius. The rainfall is variable and mostly unexpected. The warm season undergoes heavy rainfalls and inland being the most. Cyclones and winds are moderate and occur at least once in a year.

Transportation
Fiji is the good place to travel. For all its visitors it offers variety of transport options. You can option of buses, taxis and share taxis to travel around the city. The cost is very less and charges about F$1 to F$2 to from Suva station to other station. The mini vans approximately charges about F$80 to travel from airport to the center city of Suva. The current rate per person is about $8 in Nadi downtown and Nadi beach. Most of the vehicles run on diesel and causes major pollution to the city.
