Overview
Hanoi is one travel destination that is slowly but surely getting more and more popular amongst travel fanatics. Hanoi was originally known to be an agricultural province with its miles and miles of farmlands, however, it has also become a tourist attraction in Vietnam.
Exploring Hanoi can give any tourist a pleasant surprise, because the place is the crossroad between the east and the west. It showcases the cultural influences of the Chinese people, the colonial heritage of the French due to years of being under the French rule.
There are lots of places to visit in Hanoi, but here are some of the sights the every tourist shouldn’t miss: the Ba Vi National Park , Tam Dao Hill Station and the Thay and Tay Phuong Pagodas. Not only that, tourists can also experience the richness of the culture thru the city’s architecture and great cuisine.
If arriving by plane, tourists will enter the country thru Noi Bai International Airport, and usually tourists can hire cabs just outside the airport. The drivers will take them to their hotel and can even serve as their tour guide.
To go around the area, there are public buses that are available as well. Shuttle buses can be provided by the hotel or tourists can stop by the Vietnam Airlines office to purchase a ticket. There is also the possibility of taking a train ride even reaching Ho Chi Minh City.

Weather / Climate
Hanoi generally has 3 seasons, winter which is described as cold and dry; summer which is known to be extremely hot and humid, but there strong chances of heavy rains; and spring, which is similar to the rainy season although its only packed with light drizzles.
Hanoi’s climate is cool and dry during the months of November up until April, and summer usually comes within the months of May until October.

When to Visit
There are no real guidelines to visit Hanoi, but peak seasons are usually within the months of September until April, because the temperature is usually milder and the climate is pleasant.
Off peak season is during the holidays namely Christmas and Tet, which is Vietnam’s Lunar New Year. This happens around the start of the year until February. Tourists who are looking for lower flight fares and hotel rates, this could be a good time to visit Vietnam; not only will the visitors enjoy the place; they also get to save money and celebrate holidays in Hanoi.
