Weather and climate condition

Like all other places in Indonesia, the North Sulawesi has a common equatorial climate with 2 different seasons which are rainy and dry. Starting from September, the cool Northwesterly winds picks up some moisture when crossing to the South China Sea and get into the Sulawesi Sea in November. From November to March, the wet seasons lasts.

Best Time to Visit

Indonesia is a tropical country like the rest of its neighbors in Southeast Asia but varies from each area. It has monsoons; the eastern monsoon usually brings the driest weather or during June and September and on the other hand, the west monsoon usually brings the main rain from December to the month of March. The whole year, Indonesia gets rainstorms and higher regions are mostly cooler.

The presence of Muddy roads may be a challenge to go through during the wet season. Remember that during holidays public transportation is commonly clogged, accommodations or reservation are usually hard to find and business are commonly closed.

Required Clothing

As it is tropical in Indonesia, common clothes like lightweights along with a rainwear for emergency purposes are commonly needed. It is not proper to use brief clothes anywhere in the country except at the beach or at sports facility

The women must observe the dress code in a Muslim area which requires the shoulders and the legs to be covered
