Overview
Laos is located in the Southeast Asia, northeast of Thailand and west of Vietnam. The area of the country is slightly larger compared to Utah in the United States.
Of course there is a lot of place to visit and things to do in this country, but first you need to find out the climate and the best time you may go for a trip in Laos.

Weather / Climate
The country is hot and tropical throughout the year with a wet monsoon that lasts from the month of May until October, and then followed by a generally dry season from the month of November until April. In Vientiane, the normal temperature ranges from 71 degree Fahrenheit or 22 degree Celsius, in the month of January to 84 degree Fahrenheit or 29 degree Celsius in the month of April. The regions in the North that includes Xieng Khouang, gets really cold from the month of November to February and may approach a freezing temperatures during the night in the mountainous places. Starting in the mid-February, temperatures usually climb gradually and in the month of April you can see a temperature of about 100 degree Fahrenheit or 38 degree Celsius.

Best time to go to Laos
All throughout the country, the climate is generally hot with some rainy days in between May and October when the temperature is at its peak. If you want to avoid the rain and the heat in Laos, the best time to get there is most probably November or until February. In the mountainous area of the north, the month of May until July is still comfortable.
Required clothing
It is best to wear lightweight clothes and even rainwear with some warmer layers if you get there by October until March in the mountainous areas.
