Macau is known for its subtropical climate. This means that the city has extremely hot summers with rainfall. As a result, a prolonged intensely humid summer that starts in June and ends in September. The heat and humidity (75- 90%) bring out a temperature of up to more than 30 degrees C. Forty to eighty inches of rainfall is experienced by the city every year. It also takes on tropical cyclones during its typhoon season.

When to Travel

Autumn is said to be the best time to visit Macau. This starts in October and ends in December. During this month, the humidity is very low and the days are warm and sunny. Macau mildly experiences winter up to temperatures below 10 degrees C. This chilly season starts in January and ends in March. Winter in Macau is sunny yet cold. Humidity elevates in April. From May-September, occasional typhoons are experienced because of the rain combining with extreme heat and humidity.

With this, you should remember to prepare your appropriate clothing during your months of visit. If you want to go to Macau in the summer, it is advisable for you to wear light, cotton clothes. When you visit during winter, wool is best, together with a top coat. March to May and September to November may have much cooler or chillier months so you should be prepared with jackets or sweaters.
