In general, New York has a humid continental climate. New York City, however, has a humid subtropical climate. New York City winters are very cold and long at -25 degrees C and below (Northern Plateau) and -15 degrees C and above (Southern Plateau).
New York City and the lower Hudson valley experience warmed up summers with little flashes of humidity.
Because of the subway, New York City is the 46th among all of the States in the level of greenhouse gases produced by each person. New Yorkers would rather use the subway than get a car, It would be faster to just get on the train and walk to work than think about where to park.

When to Travel
