One is able to get around Nicaragua by bus. Bus is actually the main mode of travel in this country. These buses become very crowded especially during the morning and evening rush hours. The fare is actually low and affordable about $1 per 30 minutes trip and $3 to $4 for longer trips. There are also minibuses which actually hold up to 15 people per trip. People also get around by plane using the domestic airlines and these are used by those who want to get to the Atlantic coast faster. There are also ferries that are used to get people around Nicaragua. These ferries are sometimes risky due to bad weather conditions experienced in the sea especially for those who have health problems. Taxis are also used and the fare is negotiable depending on the distance to be travelled.

Best Time to Travel

The temperatures are extremely hot in April and May and thus visitors should avoid going to Nicaragua due to these extreme temperatures. The wettest months range between June and October whereby excess rain makes it difficult to travel to Nicaragua.
