Oahu

FLIGHTS AND TRAVEL GUIDE

Overview

Oahu, the third largest island in Hawaii, is not just a little rock in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It’s also a world of wonders that gives you the opportunity to experience nature through its pristine beaches and crystal clear waters.

Oahu is considered to be Hawaii’s bosom. Visit this beautiful island-city and get to experience nightlife in the city and eye-opening cultural presentations. With a number of restaurants, shopping establishments and great places to stay, no one can really resist the call of the ocean.

Going to Oahu is not a big concern, because there are my flights coming in and out of Honolulu, and there are also shuttle services and boat rides going in and out the island. These services from the airport to terminals leave every 15 minutes. Tourists can also take the bus, but it has to be the bus with the destination sign of “Waikiki Beach and Hotels” to avoid getting lost. Getting around the island is not a problem because there are several car rental services available upon arrival at the airport and still more when outside.

Weather / Climate

Climate in the big Island something that is almost constant. The temperature in the island is about 20 to 30 degrees Celsius, almost the entire year. Similar to other tropical cities or countries, there are only 2 seasons in this beautiful island, rainy season and dry season. The rainy or wet season is from the months of November until March and hurricane season is from June until November. The rest of the year is the dry season.

When to Visit

It is considered to be an off season during spring and fall, between the months April (2nd week) until the middle of June. Another off peak period is between the months of September until the middle of December. Although considered to be an off season, there are many Japanese tourists visit the island of Oahu during the month of April because of Japan’s Golden Week, so it’s best to have hotels and flights booked ahead of time.

Peak seasons usually offer high priced flights and hotel accommodations, but nevertheless, tourists still flock the airports for their much awaited Hawaiian vacation. Most flights, hotels and resorts are booked to their fullest between the months of mid-December until March and even April. Again, book the trip ahead of time.

To be able to make the most out of the trip, try to look for flight, hotel and tour packages, since there are a lot of those available online.
