Transportation
Travelling by trains is a bit faster than travelling by bus. But the transportation services are less frequent and might cost more as well. Some of the immediate areas like Porto and Lisbon are considered to be the places which are properly served by suburban railway services. The rail networks between the chief lines of Portugal like between faro and Braga are considered to be great. The Alfa pendular trains are pretty fast and are very comfortable as well. The first class in this train is excellent. The Alfa pendular train will stop only in some of the major city railway stations and requires reservations in advance very often.
If you are planning to travel between the cities like Braga, Gaia, Porto, Coimbra, Aveiro, faro and Lisbon then getting the advance reservation is most recommended. The intercity trains can take you to any further destinations especially the interior locations like Beja, Guarda and Evora. As the rail network is limited to most of the places and hence bus transportation is considered in such places. Rede expresso is considered to be one of the largest bus company for inter city bus transportation.
