Weather / Climate

South Korea is at the East Asian monsoonal region with 4 different seasons. How the air moves from the Asian continents has great influence on the country’s weather than the air that moves from the Pacific Ocean. Winter is relatively longer, dry, and cold; while summers are shorter, humid and hot. Autumn and spring are the only pleasant times but is short. The normal temperature in Seoul is about 22.5 degree Celsius up to 25 degree Celsius. Because it is located in a southern and sea girt, the Cheju Island is warmer and then milder kind of weather compared to the other parts of the country. The normal temperatures of Cheju may range from 2.5 degree Celsius and in January to 25 degree Celsius in July.

The whole country is generally receiving enough rainfall for the agriculture to survive. It rarely happens that they receive less than 75 cm of rainfall. Although the amount of rain may differ every year but droughts happens at least every 8 years

The country is just too blessed to become less vulnerable from typhoons than in neighboring countries. Roughly about 1 to 3 typhoons are expected each year. They pass in late summer or the month of August although flooding may cause remarkable damages.
