It is the palace of imperial Japanese family. The metropolitan area of Tokyo comprises of 23 special wards and 39 municipalities. This city is mostly covered by the islands. The population of this city is about 13 million with 8 million from special wards only. Its economy is world’s largest with a expected GDP of $1.479 trillions. According to the recent reports it is ahead of New York City in economy. Today it is a command centre for world’s economy. It is also called as alpha city by GaWC inventory. It is listed in the global cities index in 2010. Tokyo is world’s second most expensive city according to the economist Intelligence Unit. It is centre for fancy, wealth and urbanization. By traveling around Tokyo once you can get a glimpse of entire Japan.

The climate of Tokyo is great during the months of August. This is because the climate of Tokyo experiences seasonal lag of one month and august happens to have the seasonal lag with warmest climate. The month of January will experience coolest temperature. The Tokyo lies in the climate zone of humid subtropics. It experiences the seasons of summer with hot humid and usually the winters will be mild with cool spells. The average temperature of Tokyo is around 27.5oc which is about 81.5oF. When to Travel

January and August are considered to be two best seasons to travel to Tokyo. One can find all means to transportation like rail, road, shipping lines and different planes to reach Tokyo. There are two large airports present in Tokyo, Narita international airport offers international travel flights and Haneda airport offers domestic flights.

Transportation

Even though it is expensive city it is the best place to travel. Tokyo is safe and clean too. If you are traveling around the city for first then there are chances of getting confused by the railway systems. This is because of many railway systems operating in Tokyo. The entire city is divided into separate railway networks with most of them run by private lines only. It is advised to avoid rush hours because of the heavy traffic in the trains. Yamanote line is the famous railway line in Tokyo. You can find English sign boards in most of the stations to make foreign visitors to understand the train timings. Several bus facilities are also introduced to cover different suburbs. Rinkai Line is the private underground line which covers most of the Tokyo.
