It is easy to get around in Uruguay. One can choose to travel either by bus or taxi within the country. It is true that there is an extensive internal bus system within Uruguay. Buses usually leave Tres Cruces bus station and serve both parts within the country and also internationally. Travelling by bus within this country is actually safe. This is because the roads are well maintained and buses are air conditions to ensure maximum comfort. The buses are also frequent and thus it is very hard to miss a bus to your destination. Taxis in Uruguay are actually safe and comfortable. With a taxi, it will cost you only $2 per kilometre and the costs are fixed meaning that no passenger exploitation whatsoever.
