Overview

Vancouver is one of the biggest metro-cities in Canada and the city has been consistently voted as part of the list: “the best cities to live in”; just one of the many reasons why this is such a great place to visit.

Downtown Vancouver is definitely the best place to start with when visiting the city for the first time. It is where tourists can enjoy a lot of shopping centers, experience fine dining, and beach-hopping. You can find Sunset Beach, First Beach or English Bay, as well as the second and third beach.

The Westside district is also a good place to visit; tourists can visit the markets located in Granville Island.

East Van is mostly a residential city, where you can find ethnic restaurants, shops that cater to the arts, antique furniture and designer clothes.

You can reach your city of destination by plane, car, bus, train and even by boat.

When to Visit

Peak seasons in Vancouver is from July to August, it is when the Vancouver International Film Festival is usually held, aside from that the climate is most likely to cooperate with anyone visiting the city. During these months, tourists get to experience the Vancouver International Music Festival plus the HSBC Celebration of Lights Fireworks competition.

For the snow lovers who plan to snowboard and ski, January and February would be the best months to visit Vancouver.

For those who plan to wait it out a little bit, visiting the city during its lean period is a very good idea. The months of May, June, September and October would be the best months to go.

The late fall is considered to be Vancouver’s off season. This is probably a good time to take advantage of the discounted fares and hotel accommodations.
