Weather / Climate

Vietnam has several climate areas:

• From September to February, the Central areas/regions have north east monsoons. The summers here are dry and hot but lately, the storms happen more frequently.

In the South, you have the dry and cool season (December – February; 20 degrees C), the rainy season (June or July –November), and the dry and hot season (March-May/June). April is known to be the hottest with a noontime temperature of 33 degrees C and above.

ü  In the North, all four seasons occur. Winters are extremely cold (15 degrees C). The summer season is wet and hot up to 40 degrees C. Fall is from October-December. The most desirable season of spring is from March- April.

When to Travel

You could really have a great time visiting Vietnam during the cool, dry season in Central Vietnam, from December to February. Here, you won’t worry about having to pack heavy winter clothes or worry about extremely drenched tourist spots. It won’t hurt if you keep yourself updated for any sudden weather changes these days.
