2. Choose cheaper alternative like a pension house or a camping site instead of sleeping in a 5-star hotel
You are traveling because you want to experience what the place has to offer to tourists like you and not sleep for the whole duration of your travel. Therefore, looking for cheaper alternative where you can place your things safely and have a comfortable bed to sleep on would be much better. You can go for a pension house that has far lower rates compared with a 5-star hotel.
If you intent to stay inside the hotel and their enjoy amenities, then you must go for a 3 or 4-star hotel. The rates are lesser compared to a 5-star.
3. The place where your chosen accommodation should be away from the city or where it is near the metropolis area
Here is something that you probably did not know, if the hotel is within the metropolis area or at the heart of the city, chances are the rates are way higher to those hotels that are far away from the city. It is because you are paying more for convenience and hassle-free accommodation wherein everything is within your reach. No need to travel a kilometer or more in order to shop, buy some food, etc.
If you do not mind traveling a distance to get what you need, then book for a hotel that is far from the city.
4. Book earlier and negotiate for the price if you are staying longer
It would be best that you do book earlier in order to avoid having to look for different hotels, pension houses, or apartments to book for because all are full-booked. If you are staying like for a week or 2 weeks, it would be best to negotiate for the price. They might give you a discount since you are staying for a longer period of time not just for a night.
