Planning A Well-Detailed Vacation

Nothing beats having a plan before you do anything. This principle applies also when you are out there having a vacation. Being organized with things does give out loads of benefits. One of the benefits you can get out from a well-detailed vacation is saving money on the total cost of the trip.

It might cost you spending time planning, analyzing, booking stuff, and etc. if the end result would be saving hundreds of dollars; it is definitely all worth your time.

To have a well-detailed vacation, here are some tips:

1. Plan few months ahead before you scheduled flight

Planning does take time. Therefore, you need to plan ahead your vacation. A good time frame will be 3-6 months. This will give you ample time to put things in perspective without rushing in making decisions as to what destination to go and the activities you are going to engage in.

2. Put everything in writing

It is much better that you put all your plans in writing. In this way, you will not miss anything. List everything from the airlines, destinations, accommodations, food, and activities. You put them all in pure black and white.

3. Do the process of elimination

When you have your plan ready with all the lists of things that you think you need to decide on, the next step would be doing the process of elimination. Organize your plan and check those items that you would really love to have and eliminate those that do not give much weight for your vacation.

The process of elimination is important as to give you more room to think which is more important especially when you are on a vacation on a budget.

4. Seek for better alternatives if available

When you already have finished the process of elimination, let’s go to choosing better alternatives. In this way, you can think of better substitute for a particular item and save money at the same time. Say for instance, you are going on peak season everything would be expensive from airfare to accommodation. A good alternative would be traveling during off-peak season. You will be saving at least 30-40% off of the total amount you are about to spend on a particular destination.

Your plan need not to be that perfect but it should be in such a way that everything is laid out. Don’t forget to have Plan B if in case some activities will not push through due to other reasons.
